Unfreeze an Animal Protect Your Plot and Melts

Hold the fire, face the path, and stop donating dragons to walk-ins.

Protect Your Base

Defense in Unfreeze an Animal is not a turret. It is presence. Your plot is a campfire on open grass with six people in the instance. Anyone can walk onto the lawn. Anyone can shove a melting sphere off the ring. The official loop even advertises that steal. This page is how you keep a thaw that you already paid for with a long push.

Face the path, not the flames

While E Unfreeze is running, stand between the ice and the most likely approach — usually the gap between your plot and the hunt zone, not the pretty side with trees. You need to see a body coming before they touch the sphere. Camera up. If you stare into the fire you will lose the dragon to someone you never framed.

Stay in prompt range. Protection that walks off the pit to “scare” a player often drops the channel and creates a bigger steal window. The how to unfreeze rules still apply during a siege.

What you bother to defend

You cannot body-block every cow. Defend:

  • Anything you would be angry to see on another lawn
  • Anything still melting
  • Your only income animal if the rest of the plot is empty

Let commons finish in quiet moments. If a stealer wants your starter cow while you are escorting a wolf, they can have the cow. Rankings on the tier list keep that choice honest.

Teammates

The description tells you to team up. On a six-player server a duo is the natural defense: one hunts, one is the fire sitter. The sitter does not “play less.” They convert ice into owned animals. Swap every few minutes so neither of you tilts. Friend gameplay is exactly this split — the video in the middle of this page is a co-op Unfreeze an Animal session.

Three-stacks can lock a server. If you are solo against a stack, thaw cheap, or hop. Hero defending a dragon against three pushes is content for them, not for you.

Layout habits

Park finished animals off the ring so the pit stays clear for the next sphere. A cluttered fire makes it easy to “accidentally” bump your melt. Keep a straight reverse path from hunt zone to ring so you are not weaving through other plots. Every extra lawn you cross is another steal opportunity you gave away — which is the inverse of how to steal.

If you own +20 Speed, use it to return to the pit, not only to leave it. Speed that only runs outward is how farmers get robbed. 2x Melt Speed is the actual defense pass: less time on the clock. Price and roles are on game pass tiers.

When to abandon

If a melt is 10% done and three people are on your grass, shove the ice into a reset or let it go and take a wild spawn instead. Pride is not cash. Make money fast assumes you still have a plot that prints; a wiped fire prints nothing.

After a successful hold, do not instantly AFK. The player you just denied will wait for you to walk. Do one more scan, then hunt. Pair this page with the farmer playstyle if you want the full defensive main, and keep controls handy so you can rotate the camera without dropping E.

You will still lose animals. The goal is to lose commons on purpose and keep the blocks that actually fund the next hunt.

Solo defense without a sitter

If you are alone, shrink the map. Hunt the nearest ice, never the prettiest silhouette on a far slope. Start E the instant the sphere kisses the ring, and treat every camera flick as a chance to drop the prompt. Buy 2x Melt Speed before +20 Speed if your deaths are pit deaths — the speed versus melt page is the worksheet. Codes, when they exist, should fund that pass logic, not a cosmetic; see how to redeem. A small plot you can see is richer than a huge lawn you cannot staff.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I stop people walking onto my plot?

You cannot lock the lawn. You body-block the ice, finish melts fast, and team with a fire sitter.

Should I defend every animal?

No. Defend high-output and in-progress melts. Let starter cows go if a better block is in transit.

Is 2x Melt Speed a defense buy?

Yes. Shorter thaw time is less exposure. See speed versus melt.

Does playing with a friend help?

Yes. One hunts, one holds the fire. That is the intended team-up.
