Unfreeze an Animal Team Up on Six-Player Servers

Runner hunts, sitter holds the fire, and both of you watch the ice until it is owned.

Team Play

Unfreeze an Animal is online co-op even when you queue solo. Public servers hold six players. The official description tells you to team up. That is not flavour text. Two people who split runner and sitter convert ice faster than any solo with both game passes, because the melt no longer requires the hunter to stand still. This page is how a duo should actually play — roles, voice, loot, and the betrayal risk that exists for as long as the ice is public. A friend session for this title is embedded on protect your base; watch the split there, then come back for the duo rules.

If you have never finished a thaw, do that first on the beginner walkthrough. Team play multiplies a loop you already understand. It does not replace how to unfreeze.

The six-player math

Six seats. Possible shapes:

  • 2 + 4 solos. A duo is already the strongest unit. Play clean, do not three-stack grief.
  • 2 + 2 + 2. The honest war. Steal between duos, farm when lanes are quiet.
  • 3 + 3 or 4 + 2. The lobby is a lock. If you are the two, hop unless you enjoy content for them.

You cannot lock a plot with a door. You lock it with a body on the ring. That is why the sitter is not “playing less.” They are the reason the runner’s wolf becomes a printer instead of a montage on someone else’s lawn. Protect your base is the sitter textbook. How to steal is the runner textbook when the ice you want is already in transit.

Runner

The runner leaves the pit on purpose. Job list:

  • Take the nearest ice that matches the rank you agreed on (cow floor, wolf upgrade, dragon only on call)
  • Push a straight reverse path that does not weave through extra lawns
  • Call when you are ten seconds out so the sitter clears the ring
  • After drop-off, either sit the next melt or go get the next block — never both half-done

+20 Speed (149 Robux, “Walk 20 studs/s faster. Permanent.”) is the runner pass. 2x Melt Speed still helps the pair, but a sitter is free melt insurance. Buy speed for the person who walks. Rankings: game pass tiers.

Sitter

The sitter stays in E range, faces the path, and body-blocks. Job list:

  • Start E Unfreeze the instant the sphere is centred on the flames
  • Call “contest” when a stranger steps on the grass — not after they touch the ice
  • Park finished animals off the ring so the next sphere has a pit
  • Do not chase a steal across the map while a dragon is dripping

Swap every few minutes so neither of you tilts. A sitter who never hunts will wander. A runner who never sits will donate. The farmer page is the solo version of sitting; the stealer page is the solo version of running. Duo play is both pages at once, assigned out loud.

Voice and callouts

You do not need a polished script. You need four calls:

  • Rank. “Cow,” “wolf,” or “dragon” so you do not fight over a B-tier while S-tier sits.
  • Inbound. “Ten seconds, clear the pit.”
  • Contest. “Body on grass, stay on E.”
  • Dump. “Leave it, rotate.” Dump is a team word. Pride is a solo word.

If you cannot voice, use Roblox chat for those four and nothing else. Novels in chat are how dragons walk off the ring. Camera discipline still lives on controls — the sitter has to yaw toward the path while holding interact.

Loot and printers

Agree before the first push: printers land on the plot that can guard them. Do not split a dragon onto the quieter lawn if that lawn is empty and unwatched. The animal belongs to whoever finishes the thaw, which is why the sitter is not a servant. They are the owner of record for every block they actually melt.

A healthy duo plot in hour two looks like the make money loop: two B-tier cows, one A-tier wolf, an S-tier dragon only if someone is still sitting. Exact cash per second is unpublished. Trust the HUD tick and the animal index, not a fake spreadsheet.

Betrayal risk

Ice is public until it is not. A pickup-group “friend” can shove your dripping dragon one plot over and start their own E. That is legal. Treat random team-ups as temporary. Do not start an S-tier melt with a stranger unless you are already body-blocking. Party with people you will still queue with tomorrow. Official community links sit on the wiki links page; use those, not a random chat account that appeared on your grass.

If your partner peels off to chase while you sit, you are a farmer with extra footsteps in the snow. Call it once. If they keep leaving, play solo rules: thaw cheap, or hop.

Three-stacks can lock a server. That is still the designed six-player room, not a hack. Your counter is hopping, not a heroic dragon defense against three pushes. Check the changelog if a later patch adds private servers or party tools; until then, public six is the whole social graph.

Codes, when they exist, are personal rewards — redeem on how to redeem — and they do not replace a sitter. Tools on the tools hub help you decide speed versus melt for the runner. The pair still lives or dies on who is looking at the path.

Team-up is official. Use it. Assign runner and sitter, talk in four words, finish the thaw, and treat random allies as contestants until the ice breaks.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is co-op official in Unfreeze an Animal?

Yes. Team-up is in the official description, and public servers hold six players. Online co-op is the default mode.

What should each player do in a duo?

One runs ice home. One sits the fire, holds E Unfreeze, and faces the path. Swap so neither role tilts.

Can a teammate steal my melt?

Until the thaw finishes, the ice is public — even to a friend. Sit the pit yourself if you do not trust the other person.

Should a three-stack stay in a six-player server?

You can. Solos and duos on the other side should hop. Locking a lobby is strong and usually miserable for everyone else.

Do we both need game passes?

No. Buy +20 Speed for the runner if anyone buys. A sitter is free melt insurance. See game pass tiers.
